It’s early morning this Friday as I write this post, and as soon as I’m finished, I’ll be heading out to the beach for a full day of solo reading in my trusty beach tent. I’m really lucky to have gotten today off work so that I can get a jumpstart on getting through most of Homo Deus by Yuval Noah Harari (which I will be reviewing on Monday) and also starting Into The Water by Paula Hawkins for my May 2017 Book Of The Month delivery. I’m bringing some snacks and planning on at least 5 hours of uninterrupted beach and reading time. Ready. Set. Go.
For those of us still on the weekly grind this Friday, you may find some solace and entertainment in this week’s links. Only one more day till the weekend!

This week was a bit interesting for me because I spent the first half in Milan, all of Wednesday travelling and now the end of the week readjusting to being back to regular life in LA. I had a very relaxing two and a half weeks with my family over the holidays, eating all my favorite home-cooked meals, reading to my heart’s content and resting. I feel like my batteries have been restored (despite the jet lag at the moment), and that I’m now really ready to tackle 2017.
My main focus in January will be getting ahead with my blog posts so I’m not always writing them at the last-minute (who else is with me?), getting back into my exercise schedule and also reconnecting with my morning routine.
*For the first time this week I’ve included lifestyle links from the various non-bookish blogs I read that I liked (in the Other Links section). I hope you enjoy them as an added bonus to this weekly post and as a way for me to share my other interests with you.
