Links I Loved This Week

Links I Loved This Week

  • I was intrigued by a couple of the titles on this week’s Bookish post about new releases, including nonfiction pick The Tide by Hugh Aldersey-Williams and novel The Bookshop On The Corner by Jenny Colgan.
  • A Cup Of Jo featured 5 book releases set for this coming October and November. I was particularly interested in The Mothers by Brit Bennett, coming out October 11th.
  • This review by Kaeleh Bee of This Charming Life made me run to Amazon to buy Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle Menton. Can’t wait for my book mail.

  • I found Hopewell’s Public Library Of Life post about the Top 5 Characters I Wouldn’t Trade Places With an interesting concept that got me thinking of which characters I wouldn’t want to be. I think top of my list would be Anna Karenina or another similar doomed female figure.
  • Congratulations to Bookishness And Tea and Inky Spells on their one year blogging anniversary. It’s truly a great accomplishment and I can’t wait to be there myself!

  • On Tuesday I posted a new Author Spotlight for one of my Top 10 favorite authors – Jane Austen. I ranked the 6 adult full-length novels she completed from my favorite to my least favorite, though really I love them all.
  • I also wrote a book review of David Cay Johnston’s The Making Of Donald Trump, including 5 troubling things I learned about Donald Trump’s business and personal dealings. It was horrifying but much-needed information.
  • This weekend I will be posting about some of my new favorite Book-Themed Podcasts. It was a super fun post to write so look out for it on Sunday.
  • Next week I’m hoping to participate in a linkup with Broke and Bookish by posting my Fall TBR list, and I’m going to write my first Book Of The Month subscription review post of the 3 titles I received for September.

Fall *is* the best season for book lovers! Warm blankets, cozy corners, warm beverages, and beautiful books. I can’t wait for the temperatures to cool down here. I can’t wait to see your fall TBR!

I know, it’s going to be in the 90s next week in LA and i’m pretty sad about it. I guess it’ll be fall soon enough. The Fall TBR list should be up around Tuesday!

Oh, I missed Amy’s anniversary announcement. Thanks for the reminder.
I joined Book of The Month with a $5 subscription for October. I’m soo excited! I will probably keep the subscription at the regular price too because it sounds like my kind of club. 🙂

I am so anxious about starting another way to increase my TBR. It’s already so large! Do you find you have time to read these books each month?

My TBR definitely continues to grow as well, but I just make myself be realistic. I read 2-5 books a week depending on length and that’s as much as I can do with a full time job 🙂
